Visual Language 1

In this Visual Language session we had to cut out ten seperate 10 x 10cm squares of paper to work on. We were then given sheets of the letter A in different fonts to work with. We had to cut out the A letterforms and use a variety of different techniques to express 10 different words (one on each paper square). We were not allowed to cut the individual A's (therefore changing them into another letter or symbol) and we were not allowed to cut or break the paper squares in any way.
The words that we had to express were Connect, Break, Negative, Systematic, Finish, Right-Angle, Project, Spine, Loop and Enclose.

Here are my examples listed in that order:

I think that these are a good attempt at representing the words, but I definitely need to work on finding the simplest way of expressing a word instead of a way that I find interesting or clever. For example, a loop should clearly have just been a circle with a repeated sequence or something similar, but instead I tried to represent it in an interesting way by showing about 1 quarter of the loop.
