Foil Blocking

I used this foil blocking test to try and simulate the kind of foil blocking that could be done in the outside industry.
This was simply done with reactive foil and a heat press but it could also be done by screen printing glue and using the same foil in a similar way.
I used this illustration of a manta ray and used illustrator to live trace it to save time. Live tracing doesn't create a perfect illustrated replica but it was good enough for this test.
The colours aren't brilliant in these pictures so I will try to take more photos in brighter daylight.
The pictures below show a full photo, a skewed perspective and then the foil sheet after blocking.
The foil is actually supposed to be platinum colour but they have a bit too much contrast and the foil looks a lot darker.
