Comic Brief: Different Style

Looking at my illustrations so far, I thought that maybe I should try and use a more simplified style that fits a bit more with contemporary graphic design rather than art-style illustration. I made these in Illustrator, still using my original illustration but vectorised by hand.

The style works quite well and looks really clean, but I'm still not sure if it is really suitable for the cover design. I tried to add the type in a couple of different ways, but again neither really seemed appropriate.
