Comic Brief: Adding Colour

I wanted to experiment with using colour in my current illustrations because the black and white look is a bit plain and maybe uninteresting. At least for this first illustration, I want to use quite simple colours that aren't too vibrant and stick with maybe blues and purples because they relate most to the character of Dream. These are a few different progressive experiments in using colour with the current face illustration:

I actually really like the style of this last illustration because it uses a simplistic kind of colouring but looks more detailed because of the variety of tones and the shadow layer over the right side of the image. This has some potential for a new direction for final illustrative route for the brief and it fits much more into contemporary design.
