At this point everybody had to do a quick 15 minute drawing of their words together in one scene. It could be as abstract or realistic as you wanted, it just had to include all the words visually. This was the first 2D stage.
The pictures were then collected up and distributed around the room again so that no one had the same picture that they drew.
This is the picture that I got.
The words were lolly-pop lady, in quicksand, mozzarella and hot pink.
I then had to try and make this image in 3D using any scale or media and try to recreate it as best as possible. This was my recreation.
I think was a good effort, and it was pretty fun to make. Thanks go out to Jack Neville and Pawel Adamek for helping me out with this one. We used anything we could find to create the pieces of the image including a lamp, some print outs, a folder, some masking tape, a wooden spoon and even a little piece of real cheese for the hand to hold. Below is a shot from the side showing how we made up the scene on different planes and used different objects to hold it all up.
I think that this brief resolution worked really nicely and was probably the most fun to produce as it wasn't particularly serious yet it used a lot of tweaking and precision working across the planes and making it all fit together in the photograph. I am really pleased with the end result and I think it encompasses the concept of the 2D/3D/2D idea really well.
