Skateboard brief

The Brief

Create and brand a skateboarding based company with a focus on designing and relating skateboarding directly to contemporary graphic design. Branding must be bold and recognisable and work across a range of media and products related to the company.

Background

All skateboarding brands and companies have a really set standard grungy, graffiti-like style to them. Skateboarding is popular because of the way it looks and there is a distinct lack of any link to contemporary graphic design and its principles. Skateboarding is a about the aesthetics in movement and actions.

Considerations

Stay away from generic 'street art' style that skateboarding usually conforms to and make a clean, modern link to more current design. Branding needs to work across a range. There is a lot of scope for different media and products/ loads that can be designed for in relation to skateboarding.
